Apple recently started accepting alternative app stores on iOS, officially called alternative app markets. We also explained to you howAltStorebut also Setup Mobiletwo true first-of-its-kind services available and usable on the iPhone.
But if they quickly shook up the native App Store, it seems that a third player expected around the corner wants to take its time. This is Epic Games, with the Epic Games Store, a new alternative app marketplace. In fact, we found out this week that we’ll have to wait until 2025 to benefit from it. Specifically, the Epic Games Store should arrive on iPhone in between June and December of the following year.
Furthermore, this also means the imminent return of Fortnite to iOS, since the Epic app store will of course contain the famous game that Apple has banned on its mobile platforms for some time.
Note, however, that the announcement would have the Epic Games Store arriving in 2025 in the UK, with no details for France and the EU. For Fortnite, Tim Sweeney (CEO Epic Games) counts on a return to the EU in 2024.

Now I’m going back to the UK in 2025!
Return to the EU in 2024The battle rages to lift Apple’s digital iron curtain from the US, Australia, Japan, Korea, Brazil and the rest of the free world.

Otherwise, a video game developer (Fortnite, Rocket League, Unreal Tournament, etc.) is already certified that his app store would only ask for a commission 12% for any premium purchase. That’s far less than the 30% Apple took from its App Store. Enough to potentially attract many developers to the Epic Games Store.
Who among you is eagerly awaiting the return of Fortnite to iOS and/or the arrival of this Epic Games Store?
