The verdict has arrived. The main accused was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her husband and son. “The Criminal Chamber at the Court of Appeal in Tetouan handed down its verdict early Wednesday, sentencing the wife involved in this incredible news to life imprisonment, accompanied by compensation to the civil party in the amount of one million dirhams. This allowance is split between 500,000 dirhams for spouse beneficiaries and 500,000 dirhams (RM) who has become a civil party.“, reports the diary Assaba in its weekend edition on May 25 and 26.
The trial of the accused began at the end of last year, when she admitted to the investigators that she was responsible for the murder of her husband and son, with her brother’s complicity.
The proceedings against both were conducted in custody with aggravating circumstances, for premeditated murder and ambush. But the brother died before the outcome of the trial.
This affair was discovered, the paper reminds, when the brother of the first defendant went to the city judicial police to report his sister.
Immediately arrested by the police, the wife at first tried to deny the facts, before confessing, making it clear that her brother was an accomplice in this gruesome affair. Before reporting the disappearance, the two suspects buried the bodies of the two victims in the garage of the house, in order to hide their tracks and cover up the crime.
The investigation conducted by the judicial police shed light on the motive of this terrible crime. It turned out that the wife and her brother were allegedly acting to get hold of the deceased’s inheritance. Eventually, disagreements over this inheritance led the brother to denounce his sister.
