“The priority of Côte d’Ivoire is the priority of the Security Council, namely the maintenance of peace and security,” said Mr. Adom Kakou on Wednesday in an interview with Onu.info.
“You know, in Côte d’Ivoire, we are lovers of peace and we say that peace is not an empty word but a behavior; and we have daily in our experience, the behavior of peace,” he added.
According to him, Côte d’Ivoire decided to be in the UN Security Council to help the international community in imposing peace, “to ensure security for common development”.
“And this, he pointed out, is also the reason why the first debate of the presidency of Côte d’Ivoire in the Security Council, which will be held on December 5, will have the topic: + reconstruction after the crisis: peace, security and stability”.
This discussion, he specified, will be chaired by the President of the Republic of Alassane Ouattara.
