Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) – The German car manufacturer Mercedes is re-opening an official sales office, with a showroom, in Abidjan by the beginning of 2019, Alexandre Callegaro, in charge of economic affairs at the Embassy, told APA from Germany in Cote d’Ivoire.
“Mercedes has always been present in Côte d’Ivoire, but in recent years it has not had an official sales representative in Côte d’Ivoire, which is why the group will soon have an official representative with a showroom here in Abidjan,” said Mr. Callegaro.
This reopening could take place in “the coming months, maybe at the beginning of 2019,” Alexandre Callegaro said on the sidelines of the German Economy Day in Abidjan, which takes place from November 20 to 30, 2018.
The German car manufacturer plans to, through this official dealership, “offer the entire Mercedes range, different types of cars, transport vehicles and vehicle-related services,” he continued.
Côte d’Ivoire experienced successive crises between 2002 and 2011, leading to the closure of the Mercedes dealership in the country whose economy remains one of the most dynamic in Africa with an average growth rate expected to be around 8% over the 2018-2020 period.
