Instagram is testing Lately, a new format that lets you see your stories posted for a week instead of 24 hours.
Recently, a new experience for Instagram Stories
Since its appearance in 2016, Stories have been one of Instagram users’ favorite content for sharing life’s moments. If originally this ephemeral format was only available for 24 hours on the platform, Instagram is looking for a new way to make this content available for longer.
In this sense, the platform is testing the new Story format, the so-called Lately (or “Recently” in French). The option allows you to add, next to Featured Stories, a story that shows your most recently published stories, for a period of 7 days. Specifically, this means that your 24-hour stories can now be viewed for a week, before being archived.
As a show screenshots from leaker Hammod Oh (see featured image), this new story format can be activated or deactivated. Also, you can delete one (or more) stories from the selection, if necessary.
A new feature that would allow Instagram to capitalize more on stories and allow creators to save time on creation and offer an alternative to featured stories. Note that the option is currently in testing for a limited number of creators.
