IBM will help US Citizenship and Immigration Services develop and maintain software for the Verification Information System under a potentially $279 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security, according to an entry in the Federal Procurement Data System.
The company will lead DevSecOps activities and large standardized web applications and information technology systems in the Amazon Web Services cloud environment under a Fast Agile Lifecycle contract for continuous verification, operations and NextGen.
According to the tender documentation draft, FALCON covers system support, operation and maintenance services as well as the delivery of software aimed at creating new VIS functionalities.
The contract will also support core VIS programs, including the E-Verify web system, the E-Verify NextGen identity and employment eligibility process, and the systematic online employee eligibility verification service.
These programs allow private sector organizations to verify that a person is eligible to work in the United States and government agencies to verify a person’s immigration status when applying for benefits.
