As Jean-François Marty, the soul of the event, explains, the program for this 29th edition should be representative of today’s creation and publishing, with its growing influences. And around the president of this edition gathered a very rich range of talents Tony Sandoval, who made the poster. And this year again, The price of the town of Sérignan will go to the author for the quality of his first album published in France.
This is not the least advantage of the festival to put this light on the first album. It’s even which puts Hérault’s meeting above the rest (many) quality events, organized around comics throughout the region. Every year, the task of the jury, which this year is chaired by the Mexican Tony Sandoval, seems more and more difficult, since the emerging talents are numerous and of such quality!
Every year, a winner Award of the city is given an original sculpture by visual artist Lionel Laussedat and an endowment from The town of Sérignan. He is chosen from a selection by a jury consisting of the president of the festival, two specialized journalists, a professional from the Occitanie region, a librarian and a reader from the media library. The award will be presented by Tony Sandoval, president of the jury, on Saturday, May 27 at 6:30 p.m. under the tent.

Olivier Deprez presents in the graphic arts office Regional Museum of Contemporary Art of Occitanie an exhibition whose name refers to the artist’s new work, presented for the first time on the occasion of his exhibition, a multilingual variation on the terms “work” and from “procedure”.
Wreck “it expands and deepens the woodcut narrative, but adapts it to the aesthetics of the digital age and the resulting culture of remixing and recycling. The artist’s graphic and narrative work is the result of a long journey and prolonged meditation on the relationship between text and image., between graphic storytelling, literature, film and animation, between visual arts and comics. His introduction of wood engraving to the world of comics revolutionized the ninth art.”
