The video went viral on social networks in just a few hours. Dominican actress Massiel Taveras experienced falls when she walked the carpet in the Cannes Film Festivalnear Nice (Alpe-Maritimes). The incident happened on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, but the pictures were still going viral this weekend.
The former Miss Dominican Republic got stuck nice anger as she climbed the stairs of the Palais des Festivals and tried to arrange the train of her dress on the carpet.
Dress by Giannina Azar
In the ten-second video, we see Massiel Taveras starting to climb the stairs in a very long white dress by Giannina Azar, with giant face of Jesus Christ at the end of his train. It measures approximately 5 meters.
As she makes sure the image is visible to all as she climbs the familiar stairs, three security guards take hold of the dress, preventing her from fully unzipping.
The Dominican star shows up very clearly resentful and tries to unroll his train properly. Then we see the security guard, who already had muscular exchange with Kelly Rowland the day before, encourage her to continue the ascent by moving on her back.
Avoid religious controversy?
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Massiel Taveras grows increasingly angry and asks the agents to let go of her dress, before waving to the spectators. The security guard repeats her gesture in front of her to tell her to move forward. Here is a mannequin he gets carried away and pushes her fiercely.
We know that the Cannes protocol is strict and that the climb up the stairs is meticulously measured by the organization. However, Internet users condemn one form of discrimination, convinced that it was the latter censored to avoid controversies related to religion.
One thing is certain, the face of Jesus has never before been featured on a celebrity’s Cannes Film Festival suit. Massiel Taveras was chosen Miss Dominican Republic 2007. She was invited to the screening of the film The Count of Monte Cristo.
