After Winrar, has Microsoft signed the death warrant for 7-Zip?

Currently, when you want to quickly compress a file in Windows, you simply right-click on it and click on the entry to compress to ZIP format. A possibility that has hardly changed since the early 2000s…which soon won’t be the case anymore!

Indeed, file explorer is going through an interesting development, since in the future it will also be able to compress to TAR and 7-zip formats. This option should be offered in the same way as for the ZIP format, with a secure entry “file compression” offering several sub-entries, for as many available formats.
