Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announces the launch, on June 23, of a direct route connecting Casablanca with the capital of Nigeria. This new line to Abuja will operate three times a week (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays), according to the daily Today, Morocco in its edition of Wednesday, May 29.
“A big event that will mark the relations between Morocco and Nigeria and give them new momentum“, greeted the Moroccan ambassador to Nigeria Moha Ou Ali Tagma, reports the daily.
“Like Cameroon, Nigeria will be the second African country that RAM will fly to two cities: Lagos with a daily flight and soon Abuja, with three frequencies a week“, we read. This announcement follows many others, going in the direction of strengthening ties, especially economic, between the two countries. These include the gas pipeline project that will connect Nigeria to Morocco and Europe, fertilizer factories and the OCP complex project in Akwa Ibom State for fertilizer production.
It also shows Royal Air Maroc’s ambitions to strengthen its commitments in Africa for better connectivity. Enough to reflect the launch of Royal Air Maroc’s development plan to transition from a medium-sized airline with 50 aircraft to a global company with an extensive network and a large fleet of 200 aircraft.
