These new Apple plans come just in time for the Paris Olympics

This week is definitely one of change for iPhone users in Paris. While the Île-de-France region has just announced the long-awaited arrival of Navigo Pass in the phone from the brand to apple, the latter also has innovations.

This is particularly the case metro, bus, RER and tram timetablesnow present live and updated in real time in the Apple navigation app. Therefore, there will no longer be any difference between what is displayed on your iPhone and what you see on the information boards at the edges of the platforms, even in case of delays on the tracks.

To distinguish between “scheduled” schedules and those that Apple updates live, the Schedules app has a new icon. The latter, green in color, has the shape of a wifi logo. It lets users know that this is the actual waiting time before the next metro or RER train. Buses and trams also benefit from this function.

With the arrival of this new feature, Apple Maps is making up for some lost ground on Google Maps, which has been offering this feature to its users for years. As the Olympics and their millions of tourists approach, Apple realizes that its navigation service must be as complete as possible in the capital.

The Apple brand has also understood the importance of showing the live schedule instead of the indications provided by RATP “in normal times”, the latter often proving far from reality. This functionality, present in the iPhone, is also coming Apple Watch through the Apple Maps application installed locally on the watch.
