Of course, artificial intelligence is part of the adventure at TP-Link, as it is with many other manufacturers. However, the Chinese company decided to keep it simple, contenting itself with allowing its cameras to distinguish between people, animals and vehicles, as well as abnormal sounds such as barking, crying or the sound of a break-in.
Thanks to this, the detection capacity of these devices is better than ever and allows users to be alerted via the Tapo app (available on Android, iOS and iPadOS) even at the slightest unforeseen event. The latter also allows you to configure cameras, view automatic and manual recordings, define activity and privacy zones, and share device access with friends or family members.
Finally, while the Tapo app lets you control your devices from anywhere in the world for free, certain features, like cloud video recording or baby crying detection, are only available with a €3.99 per month Tapo Care subscription. However, most cameras manufactured by TP-Link remain compatible with other video surveillance solutions such as Synology Surveillance Station. So, even the most daring will be able to manage with these five new devices.
